...Jason Fordyce Sherri Foster English Composition September 25, 2012 Two Descriptions Paper Description 1-Positive Effect It was a bright radiant fall morning as I sat contemplating the day. The aroma of pumpkin spice and fresh ground coffee beans made me realize what a awe-inspiring, relaxing corner I was sitting in. The whiff of the sweet morning danishes and breakfast sandwiches filled my nose with cheer. Creamy sweet and salty blended frappuccinos are being sipped on. There is a buzz of others laughing and chatting over the calming music in the atmosphere. Others are happily engaged on their laptops, working and studying material using the free wifi that is provided. All of the baristas are diligently working to fulfill the the orders of the other individuals in the cafe. The warm and rough caress of the cup in my hand makes me take pleasure and be thankful for sparkling mornings such as these. Description 2-Negative Effect As I sit in the loud bustling of the morning crowd I can’t help but be drowned out by the boisterous music coming from within. The rustle and high pitched giggles of the people around me babbling about their previous rendezvous keeps me from my train of thought. The bitter stench of caffeine and over cooked pastries has the baristas baffled as they strive to accommodate the sleep deprived individuals walking through the door. The overpopulated number of people mingling amongst themselves have taken over the tables and chairs and have......

...Bill Davis Davis 1 Professor ENG 111 15 September 2010 Not Your Typical Fast Food Restaurant When you first look think of McDonald’s, you probably think of just a place to pick up a quick, cheep meal. In some cases, this is true. McDonalds is one of the most widely known and popular fast food restaurants around the world. It may not be a place for a romantic date, but there are not too many places you can go have a dinner with your family with the bill coming out to be under twenty dollars. Sure the food may be unhealthy, but it is the cheapest and most efficient route to satisfying your appetite. This may be why McDonald’s has become such a powerful food chain. But after visiting I realized the many different features that make this restaurant so attracting to people. Around lunchtime at noon, I walked across the parking lot, I noticed the drive through was packed with people just waiting to get their meals and get on the road. So I walked inside the doors of the McDonald’s, passed the cashier, and took a seat in one of the booths in the dining area. The booths were big and comfortable and they were all along walls of the dining area. This area was designated for people that wanted to sit down and enjoy their meals. People are spread out around the tables and booths far enough to where they are not invading other peoples conversations. ...

...ECPSC- 2013 CURRENT AFFAIRS HANDOUT NO 13 LOKPAL BILL 1. Background. (a) The Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC) while recommending the constitution of Lokpal was convinced that such an institution was justified not only for removing the sense of injustice from the minds of adversely affected citizens but also necessary to instill public confidence in the efficiency of the administrative machinery. Following this, the Lokpal Bill was for the first time presented during the fourth Lok Sabha in 1968, and was passed there in 1969. However, while it was pending in the Rajya Sabha, the Lok Sabha was dissolved, and so the bill was not passed at that time. (b) The bill was revived in 1971, 1977, 1985, 1989, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2005, 2008 most recently in 2011. Each time, after the bill was introduced to the house, it was referred to some committee for improvements a joint committee of parliament, or a departmental standing committee of the Home Ministry, and before the government could take a final stand on the issue, the house was dissolved. Several flaws have been cited in the recent draft of the Lokpal Bill. Meanwhile the activists of India Against Corruption (IAC) have prepared a draft for the bill called Jan Lokpal Bill. 2. Composition of Lokpal. The Lokpal will be a three member body with a chairperson who is or was a chief justice or Supreme Court judge, and two members who are or have been high courts judges or chief justices. The basic framework of......

The Bill of Rights

...Abstract An examination of the Bill of Rights and how it extends the protection of the civil liberties to the population, with emphasis on the First, Fourth, and Sixth Amendments, and a description of a public policy implemented to protect the constitutional rights of suspects, when interrogated by the police. The Bill of Rights and Civil Liberties The Bill of Rights is the first initial inclusion of laws to the Constitution, collected as the first ten amendments out of a total of 27 other amendments. This paper discusses three amendments in the Bill of Rights which includes the First, Fourth, and Sixth Amendments, with explanation of each amendment, and how it extends the protection of civil liberties to the population. The First Amendment This Amendment enacts the protection of free speech, religion, press, assembly, and freedom to petition the government (Dautrich & Yolof, 2011). The purpose of this Amendment is to prevent any directive establishing an adherence to a specific religion or any law prohibiting free practice of speech, assembly, and freedom of the press (Volkomer, 2011) The Amendment exclusively affects all individuals living in the U.S. including citizens within the U.S. government. It protects the right for an individual to express themselves freely, without fear of retaliation. The First Amendment is so important, because it protects the rights of the citizens to engage in open discussions and debate on public issues, which are important in......

...Milk is a pale liquid produced by the mammary glands of mammals. It is the primary source of nutrition for infant mammals before they are able to digest other types of food. Early-lactation milk contains colostrum, which carries the mother's antibodies to its young and can reduce the risk of many diseases. It contains many other nutrients[1] including protein and lactose. As an agricultural product, milk is extracted from mammals during or soon after pregnancy. Dairy farms produced about 730 million tonnes of milk in 2011,[2] from 260 million dairy cows.[3] India is the world's largest producer of milk, and is the leading exporter of skimmed milk powder, yet has little to no other milk product exports.[4][5] The ever increasing rise in domestic demand for dairy products and a large demand-supply gap could lead to India being a net importer of dairy products in the future.[6] New Zealand, theEuropean Union's 28 member states, Australia, and the United States are the world's largest exporters of milk and milk products. China and Russia are the world's largest importers of milk and milk products.[7][8] Throughout the world, there are more than six billion consumers of milk and milk products. Over 750 million people live within dairy farming households.[9] Plastic is a material consisting of any of a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic organics that are malleable and can be molded into solid objects of diverse shapes. Plastics are typically organic polymers of......

Bill

...More views against the RH bill are pouring in. Apparently they have not been considered by the Lower House Committee before the bill was endorsed to the entire body for approval in the plenary session. Hence for the enlightenment of our legislators and the entire citizenry, presented here are some more of these views, one of them coming from a lawyer Atty. Rex A. Salvilla who clearly and ably refutes some stand of the bill’s advocates: “First, the advocates say that the opponents of RH bill are anti-poor for allowing population explosion. This is not true because the opponents, like the advocates are also for population control. Both differ only on the method of control – the advocates thru condom which cost money while the opponents thru natural family planning which costs not a single centavo but only mere discipline on the part of the spouses So, who is anti-poor? It is the advocates. Second, the advocates say that they are pro-choice. This is not also true. The draft bill contains a penal clause punishing by imprisonment and/or fine those obstructing the use of condoms and promoting family planning. Is this not like tying a person to a post and telling him, “You are free”? So, where is “pro-choice” here? In fact, the bill is a “no-choice” piece. Third, the advocates say that the Pope supports condom use. This is interpreting the Pontiff out of context. The Pope simply provided an exception in the same way that God has also provided exceptions to His own commandments.......

Css Description Types

...CSS Description Types Tommy Tinsley IT/237 May 16, 2012 Adam Moore CSS Description Types INTRODUCTION Cascading Style Sheets or CSS are created to allow developers to separate the design from the content. This allows HTML to do the markup of the content without developers worrying about the layout. CSS are separated into one of three categories; external, internal, and inline CSS, each has advantages and disadvantages. INLINE CSS Inline CSS are applied in the middle of the HTML code and only apply to the line it is inserted into. This type of style sheet also contains the highest priority and will override any other CSS that is in place for that individual line. It is quick and easy to use Inline CSS and developers do not have to create a new document or edit CSS in the head of the document. However, the ease of Inline CSS is also its problem. If using this CSS only every single line will have to be edited. Inline CSS cannot perform complex styles like style the visited, active, or link color of an anchor tag.
