Program Summary

Overview of Program PEACE’s mission is to reduce victim trauma, empower survivors, and promote recovery through direct services. PEACE is committed to reducing the incidence of sexual assault and domestic violence through education and strives to challenge societal norms and beliefs that condone and perpetuate violence in the community. Evaluation is one of the most important steps in the development and implementation of any program or project. As imperative as it is to lay a solid foundation through mission, goals, and objectives, it is equally as important to have a way to define success or failure through use of appropriate tools, accurate reporting, and proper evaluation techniques. Deciding whether to use a process evaluation format or outcome evaluation can be challenging, but often a coordinated system is most telling. The main objective of any evaluation technique is to provide the state of the agency and how well or poorly their programs are working, what may need to be changed, and how well they continue to meet their mission, goals and objectives.
The mission, goals, and objectives that are presented in the scenario are fairly generalized. Without an adequate, detailed description of how the program will be administrated and implemented, it is nearly impossible to perform a process evaluation. Process evaluations serve to collect the information from the program which provides the basis for outcome evaluations. Outcome evaluations take the assessments and raw data to identify how well the program has met its goals. In order to truly evaluate this agency, some academic liberties must be taken to set the groundwork. Ignoring either process will not provide an accurate estimation of any program.
The process evaluation technique requires that data be…...

Final Essay Assignment

...Final Essay Assignment James Peterson What biases, if any, might be common to U.S. intelligence agencies? Give two examples from history or modern day? & Explain what role policymakers play and what problems they face in relation to threat analysis. Course: INTL634 March 3, 2013 What biases, if any, might be common to U.S. intelligence agencies? Give two examples from history or modern day? There are a number of different types of bias mentioned in our text books. In their book, “Analyzing Intelligence” Bruce and Bennett discuss the denial and deception (D&D) bias traps than an analyst can fall into. They mention that there are three major categories: 1) Cultural and personal bias; 2) Organizational bias; & 3) Cognitive heuristics bias. Such biases can taint the analysts opinions based on their type of biases. (George & Bruce. 2008, 127-130) Cultural and personal bias may allow the perception of the intelligence to be tainted by personal beliefs and pre-conceptions that the analyst has developed over his lifetime. This type of bias also may be influenced by personal experiences, morals, customs, habits, and social environments. Organizational bias is “generally associated with the limitations and weaknesses of large bureaucratic organizations”. This type of bias is the result of actual or perceived goals, policies, and traditions of an organization. Bruce also says that the differences are even more extreme when “classified information” is......

In the case, the mayor of Seattle pledges in June that there will be no homeless families with children or homeless women by Christmas. The manager in the case, Alan Painter, shares the mayor's commitment and enthusiasm for reducing homelessness in the city, but has many concerns about the feasibility of the mayor's pledge. Painter knows the current strategies and capacities of the city to address homelessness, but now must develop a strategy to fulfill this new pledge. The case describes homelessness in Seattle, current programs and strategies implemented by the city government, and the mayor's pledge. The case ends with Painter wondering how his agency and the city will respond to the mayor's pledge. In this paper, we will analyze the policies and strategies within Mayor Schell's administration and the impact by his pledge had on the community. In 1998, Seattle Washington Mayor Paul Schell spoke to the press about the needs of homeless families, women and children. He asked City Council to support providing immediate emergency assistance to homeless families and single women. Policy Brief Final Assignment

...Policy Brief Final Assignment Sisseritta Demps PP504: Professor Thomason August 11, 2014 Abstract: Marijuana legalization has been a controversial topic requiring a public policy solution in the political realm. There have been various arguments made for and against the legalization of marijuana. There are several states that have legalized marijuana use for medicinal purposes while others have let their guards down completely allowing citizens to use it not only medicinally, but recreationally as well. While the use of marijuana is still illegal at the federal level, there is much discussion by other states regarding policies to support marijuana legalization and many policy makers proactively planning for the possibility of such policies. Such discussion is necessary to ensure the policy implemented supports the intended use of the drug and to reduce illegal use that is not specified in the policy. Currently, there are a total of 21 states that have laws governing the use of marijuana in some form. The state of Florida has a policy in place that is closely monitored as it applies to patients suffering from severe medical conditions such as AIDS, cancer, and other diseases that leave patients in excruciating pain. This paper will discuss the great controversy of legalizing marijuana pointing out policies that are currently in place for the state of Florida and the need for small municipalities to establish policies to ensure proper monitoring of the drug. ...

Article Summary Final

...Article Summary Assignment #1 – FYSM 1310B For:Shevaun Corey By: Emily Harper 100888180 October 10th, 2012 The initial part of this article, “When should evidence be disclosed in an interview with a suspect? An experiment with mock-suspects” (2009) by Steven Sellars and Mark R. Kebbell, is a review of different experiments done by others regarding the strength of evidence and timing of disclosure of the evidence to suspects of crimes. This paper is important because it provides useful knowledge for police to have when interviewing suspects and trying to get confessions. According to different researchers referenced in this article the consensus is that if you have strong evidence against suspects it leads to a higher rate of confession. However there seems to be more controversy in the studies of when the evidence should be disclosed to suspects. Some say it should be very early on in the interview. Others say it can be dangerous to disclose evidence early if your goal is a confession because the suspect will become defensive and go into denial mode and stay there. ......

Although Tracey has difficult with transitions, she is determined to achieve all of the essential accomplishments of a normal young adult. Can Tracey get past her impulsive behavior, and all of the other symptoms of her disorder, to transition into adulthood? With the right plan in place, I believe Tracey will be able to achieve her goals and transition into adulthood. In this paper, I plan to outline a plan that will assist Tracey with her transition (Heward, 2013). Unfortunately Tracey only possesses a second grade reading level, which will mean she will require assistance with college level coursework if she is to succeed. Another major goal that Tracey has is to move into an apartment with a friend from college, upon graduation (Heward, 2013). Television News Program Analysis Assignment

...Television News Program Analysis Assignment Darris Simmons Com/310 Dina Ginsberg 10/13/2011 Television News Program Analysis The story I chose to cover is on former hedge fund tycoon Raj Rajaratnam, a 54 year old founder of Galleon Group. He was convicted in May on conspiracy and fraud for persuading a crew of corporate insiders to provide him with illegal tips on technology stocks. These tips earned him between $70- $75 million in profits for his. These stock tips include tech companies such as Sun Microsystems, IBM and Advanced Micro Devices. The coverage by each news source was pretty parallel except a few deviations from the main point of the story. Some similarities of the casts were, the number of people charged in the case, they also focused on the health of Rajaratnam. They drove in the fact that his health was deteriorating and that could be why his sentence was only 11 years versus the I saw the story as subjective because they focused mainly on facts other than the views express years the US government sought out for in the beginning of the trial in May. The focus on that could persuay the feelings of the viewer because the media knows viewers are sensitive to things such as health. Although they brought health to the table they immediately did a 180 degree turn and showed this quote, "His crimes and the scope of his crimes reflect a virus in our business culture that needs to be eradicated," by judge Holwell. They used this quote in two of the three......

Identify the source (writer and title of essay) and state his or her most important point in your own words. The writer name is Suki Kim. Her title comes from her own life trials. This essay comes from her book that she wrote titled, “Interpreter.” She lets the reader knows that she was born with the silver spoon in her mouth. Her father had lost everything in bankruptcy and in her country that is a crime a person can be put into jail. So her family had come to Queens, New York. They didn’t have a penny to their names. She had to learn how to transfer from a little rich girl to a poor little girl. This essay also shows us how she dealt with the changes and how others saw her and what she calls the 1.5 generation. Ms. Kim also lets us the reader knows that it was hard to transfer to a new lifestyle especially in the 1980’s as a teenager. 2. Summarize the other main points and their supporting details in separate paragraphs. One of the other main points in this essay to me was her first English words in junior high were F.O.B., short for fresh off the boat. Composition Final Assignment

...PARAGRAPH 1 For the final assignment I chose to read paragraph number one about wills and paragraph number two about Obama’s credit card plan. I think that the second paragraph was more effective because it explained the presidents plan to end unfair fees in credit cards as well as increasing interest rates in the near future. The writer did a good job with the variety in this paragraph starting each sentence in a different way and possessing different sentence lengths. The paragraph also flowed together at a good pace and gave away the information needed in a timely manner. The writer points out good information in a direct manner to make sure that the reader is taking in all of the needed information. The writer also had a very wide variety of word choices in the paragraph to make the reading interesting and keep the audience pulled in. In my opinion the author did a fine job with this paragraph. PARAGRAPH 2 I believe that Writepoint does a really good job giving feedback for papers that are submitted by students at Axia. The feedback that I received was accurate for the most part and I did use the information that Writepoint provided me with in order to make the necessary corrections to my paragraph above. The way that Writepoint explains the mistakes can be confusing sometimes and I have to reread it to make sure that I understand it correctly in order to make the corrections to my paper in the correct manner. One feature that I really like about Writepoint......
