Juliet is Capulet’s only living child and his hope for the future. In the fifth scene of the first act, Capulet is talking to the people at his party, and he shows how much of a good host he is. When Romeo walks into the party, Tybalt gets very angry, but Capulet stops him and says “… Let him alone” (I, V, 64), because he knows that Romeo isn’t going to cause trouble even though he is a Montague. In the first scene of the first act Capulet shows his temper when he reacting to a fight between his people and the Montagues. He has no intention of stopping the fight; instead he shouts “Give me my long sword …” (I, I, 66), and rushes out the door to join the fight. Another example of his hot temper is at the party with Tybalt. The details come from Japanese magazine Mac Fan, which were summarized on Tuesday by Macotakara. The report claims Apple's next-generation iPhone may sport a 1,920-by-1,080-pixel 5-inch display packing in 440 pixels per inch. It was claimed that Apple plans to make both sides of the screen as "thin as possible." That could allow the company to promote the "iPhone 6" as the first "phablet" able to be operated with one hand. The appeal of one-hand operation was already something Apple already focused on when it released the iPhone 5, sporting a larger 4-inch display, in 2012. That was an increase from the 3.5-inch......

...blacksmith. He lives in the town of Rochester during the 1800’s with his mother two sisters and four brothers, all between the ages of 6 months old- 16 years old. Jonathan goes to school from November to April because the other months are harvesting time. He dresses like his father with overalls and boots. Jonathan has been trying to save up money so he can afford to buy a hat for his pa when he has the sun beating on his head when they harvest the crops, corn, wheat, and beans. His father takes him out of school when it comes time for the harvesting season. All of the family except for his sisters and mother come to help them in the fields. The women in the family stay and clean the house or cook and tend to the babies. Joseph had taught him how to farm starting when Jonathan reached the age of 10, of course at that time he didn’t have the strength to lift the heavy wood so he would carry the water buckets to and from the fields to water the plants during the dry seasons. As an apprentice of his father’s Jonathan would help take orders and clean out the fire until he was old enough and more experienced enough to actually start making the items. Some of the items people would request where horseshoes, and parts for carriages. Shovels or other construction tools used for building had also been made in the blacksmith’s shop too. The men would start their work at around five or six o’clock in the morning and work as late as eight or nine o’clock. During the workday Jonathan......

...Women As News Anchors Women in all careers are striving to gain equality in the work force today, and female television news anchors are definitely part of the fight. The road to television news anchoring is a rocky one, where only a few women survive and many fail. Where progress was once thought to have been made, there aren't many females getting ahead in the world of television news. Today, there is a very slow, if any, gain in the numbers of women who succeed. There are many questions surrounding the subject of women in television news, and I will attempt to answer relevant ones in this paper. How have the women that actually make it to the top and succeed as anchorwomen, done it? What does it take to make it? Why do those few endure it/enjoy it? Why has it been and still is difficult for women? What are the expectations of women in the field, as opposed to the expectations of men? I am interested in this topic because I once aspired to become a television broadcaster. I still have inspiration in me, but not quite as much due to the negative and discouraging aspects I have heard about in classes and in the media. I am not sure that I could be happy in a career such as this, and I know there are great difficulties in "making it" in this profession. I have read about the incredible ambition of successful females in television news, and it seems like it takes a special kind of passion to want to keep up in the business. I kept my questions in mind......

Poop Study

...A thorough (and stinky) study of poop from large, plant-eating mammals has revealed that microscopic organisms inside the animals' guts have evolved at the same rate as the animals themselves. By sifting through the excrement of cows, horses, elephants, goats, sheep and other herbivorous mammals, researchers were able to analyze and compare the animals' gut ciliates - one-celled microorganisms that are especially important to the digestion process. A five-year study chronicling the excrement and gut fluids of many plant-eating mammals appears in the European Journal of Protistology, where a team of evolutionary biologists, microbiologists and computer scientists from Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands reveal details of a wide range of animal droppings. The researchers make the distinction between herbivores known as "foregut fermenters" and "hindgut fermenters," the former of which digests food in the front part of its gut (the rumen) and the latter digests in the posterior part of the gut, the appendix and large intestine. Ruminant animals such as cows, goats and sheep are foregut fermenters, while horses, elephants and zebras, for example, are hindgut fermenters. The poop used in this study came from around the world, notably from goats, deer and sheep from around Europe, an Asian elephant, and zebras and an elephant from Africa. The researchers preformed a genetic analysis of the ciliates present in the animals' excrement. "Our most important discovery......

...Samuel Conner Lusby My Freshmen Year By Rebekah Nathan Chapter 2 Lessons from My Year as a Freshman Short Written Assignment #2 Section #1 – Introduction In the second chapter of Rebekah Nathan’s book, “Life in the Dorms” in My Freshman Year, she goes in detail of how the college dorm life works. From her first hand perspective, she provides insight on day to day activity of the students around her as well as her own duties and experiences as a freshmen living in the dormitory. In this chapter, Nathen gives vivid details on the behavior of the students, their study habits, social interactions between students, and even dorm functionality and educates. Section #2 - Personal comments I find the techniques that Nathan uses to gain insight on students personal daily lifestyle very fascinating. A grown woman with the experience of a very successful professor jumping into the lifestyle of a college freshman. Nathan did not view the students from a second hand perspective or during certain times of their day, but gained her understanding of them by actually being a freshman! I chose this chapter specifically because I have experienced the dorm life that she was introduced to and it amazes me to think of this highly intellectual professor gaining information from students by simply being one. She even mentions the obscenities that are very evident during the freshmen experience, such as when she says, “Nudity, sexuality, drinking, craziness. These are......

...product and how the ran day-to-day operations. This gave out a great vibe to the public, and like I stated earlier it made customers root for them and buy into the whole story of their uprising and make them want to support the company by buying their products. Since Tom and Tom are about to make the biggest decision of their business careers it is best to break out the pros and cons of each scenario. Remaining at status quo Pros- They remain in complete control of the company and have full assurance to keep their current organizational structure and brand strategy. Will allow them to boost value of the company and command a higher price down the road. The company might be meant to operate on a small scale, in this niche market. Cons- They won’t have the strength or capital to move into other segments of the market like out west or to supermarkets. They may not have the business sense to grow the company on their own. They won’t generate as much profit as they would operating on a larger scale and benefiting from economies of scale. Launching an IPO Pros- They will gain a source of ongoing capital. With the new capital they will be allowed to move the company in their direction and keep the same focus they initially had. Their new capital will allow them to bring in more experienced people to help facilitate growth. Cons- The company may have reached its potential and they would have been better to sell out and walk away. They might not know how to......

...recruiters to demonstrate a sincere interest in the firm. In the end, Mike was one of only two students that Willis and Adams hired from his school. Mike believed that his school’s accounting program was quite good, but that it didn’t get the attention other nearby schools did because of its small size. He thought that if he did a good job with the firm his performance might open doors for other students from his school. EarthWear was Mike’s third engagement, and for the most part the audit had gone smoothly. However, in the middle of the audit, Mike found that he was spinning his wheels. After spending over an hour working on the bank reconciliation for the General Cash Account, he was frustrated and confused because he could not figure how to link the supporting documents to the reconciliation. Mike finally asked Roxanne Bailey, from EarthWear’s Controller’s office, to help him sort out the problem. It took Roxanne only a short while to realize that the accounting staff had inadvertently provided Mike with bank deposit slips for the wrong month, which of course did not match up with the bank statements or the reconciliation. Being a new auditor and unfamiliar with EarthWear’s documentation, Mike assumed the supporting documentation provided by the client was correct and that the difficulty and confusion he was experiencing was due to his lack of knowledge and auditing skills. Mike was embarrassed that he had not looked more carefully at the dates. It seemed like it took......

...Reflecting this, clothing became uniform and utilitarian. Women's skirts rose above the ankle permanently and women became more of a part of society than ever. They undertook a variety of jobs previously held by men. Substitution became common place it began as an informal agreement were by women would go to work in place of their husband filling the role left vacant after he had enlisted. By 1915, a formal system was in place the Labour Gazette (1917) estimated that one in three women were replacing men however one in three were working in job not in existence before the war. The term substitution although not always relevant was a useful tool and a reminder that women would and should only be in the work place for the duration of the war. So how did society as a whole view the work being done by women? They were now a part of clerical, secretarial work, and teaching. They were also more widely employed in industrial jobs. By 1918 In England the proportion of women works rose strikingly in public transport (for example, from 18,000 to 117,000 bus conductors), banking (9,500 to 63,700), and commerce (505,000 to 934,000). Women previously in employment as domestic workers and out workers as well as well as the wives of enlisted men all became war workers. Women of all classes became part of the war effort on the home front. For the women themselves work was embraced In comparison to some of the poor conditions endured by women in work before the war in roles such as domestic......
