Issues and Solution Medicare should cost a little bit more for the rich. In doing so, they will be catering for a fair share. By fair, I mean the rich are fortunate enough; they can afford because they are wealthy and therefore, should pay more for Medicare. In fact, raising premiums for the higher-income Medicare beneficiaries is the best strategy that will help raise more premium revenue. By doing this, the Medicare’s finances will greatly improve. This will bring more premium revenues with fewer burdens on low income beneficiaries. The basic idea in this plan is based on the fact that the beneficiaries will be paying the premiums which go up in accordance to their income. This has a lot of sense. Initially, the idea of the Medicare was to ensure that health benefit received by the beneficiaries were adequate for all alike. Things have changed due to rising costs of Medicare. Therefore, this plan comes, based on the principle that the better placed beneficiaries should pay more. Ideally, the higher-income beneficiaries are healthier and younger. These are highly needed in the plan to help create a balance in the costs resulting from the less wealthy and sicker members in the program. This will create an equitable platform for all.
Reflection
In United States, quality health care improvement is work yet to be completed. The key concept to help in understanding and supporting this work in progress is the essential principle of leadership. Leadership offers a platform that can well transform opinions into facts. It is in this concept that awareness that is desired in the medical system is created, desire aroused, and knowledge imparted on how the desired changes in the system can be achieved. Kashmir is one of the two most intractable problems that have stymied the world for so long resulting in horrendous loss of life and negative impact on the development of the belligerants. Nature of the Problem: The origins of the Kashmir issue lie in the illegal instrument of accession to India signed on October 26, 1947 by Raja Hari Singh that violated the rights and hopes of 77% Muslim population of Kashmiris to join Pakistan. It has resulted in or associated with at least four major wars: 1948, 1965, 1971 and 1999. Besides loss of liberty for 10 million people it has entailed loss of lives (more than 102,000), in the form of executions, bombardment and disappearances, horrendous tortures, injuries, crimes against women, destruction of property, businesses and the list goes on [Ref 1]. No value can ever be assigned to the psychological losses. So far India has refused visits by Amnesty International to investigate and report impartially.
