LIGGING:

...he inspires people to change with hope for a good future between the “blacks” and “whites”. Baldwin was not aware that he lived in a racist society until he had experienced it when he traveled to small village in Switzerland. Baldwin describes about his experiences living in the village and how he was able to see the issues of race. He realized that his life was defines by the color of skin in Europe. When he got there the villagers stared at him and treated him like an alien coming from a different world. “From all available evidence no black man had ever set foot in this tiny Swiss village before I came”, it was like villagers have never seen a black man before. The small children were afraid of him, stated to should Neger! Neger! And ran away from him. People are curious about him, about his skin color, his hair, and everything. “I was simply a living wonder,” Baldwin starts to think that the difference between “whites” and “blacks” doesn’t not only exist in America society, but also around Europe. Baldwin often refers to his emotions when writing about the conflicts between “whites” (page1) and “blacks” relations. These emotions show that Baldwin did not think that he would be affected by racial discrimination. He simply thought that racism as something in the past that had no connection with his own life. Therefore, he has more motives in returning to prove that people with different races are also able to live in peace with each......

Jazz Im Totalitarismus

...Band „Erstes Exzentrisches Orchester der Russischen Sozialistischen Sowjetrepublik – Valentin Panarchs Jazz Band“ fand am 1. Oktober 1922 in Moskau statt.

Customers’ Attitude Towards Wireless Internet Services in Bangladesh: an Empirical Study Comparing Wimax Based and Edge/Evdo Based Internet Service

...EDGE/EVDO based operators should increase bandwidth (speed) of their service, reduce the bandwidth fluctuation rate, they should also expand the connection sharing facilities as now it is a common state of affairs that a single household uses more than one computer. The price of EDGE/EVDO compatible modem is higher than WIMAX based modem according to the customers’ belief, so EDGE/EVDO operators should sell the required modems at lower prices. Even they can provide it free of cost to the new customers against a long term service using contract.

Laser Ignition System

...Figure 25: Required energy densities in the laser cross-section Summary and the future of laser ignition in gas engines With the great amount of know-how they have amassed, the researchers are very confident of being able to attain its aims. Our favored concept is shown in Figure 26. There will presumably be a central pump source that then sends the pulses to the “working laser” via fibers in order to form them into a high-capacity pulse for the triggering of ignition. All in all, we see the new system as the chance to prepare the technology of combustion engines for the second century of combustion engines and to exploit the open potentials [7,8] further. 8 Copyright © 2005 by ASME [7] M. Mommy, What Does 'Nigger' Mean?

...Modern French nigerbecame negre and, later, negress (black woman) was clearly a part of lexical history. One can compare to negre the derogatory nigger – and earlier English variants such as negar, neegar, neger, and niggor – which developed into a parallel lexico-semantic reality in English. It is likely that nigger is a phonetic spelling of the white Southern mispronunciation of Negro.Whatever its origins, by the early 1800s it was firmly established as a denigrative epithet. Almost two centuries later, it remains a chief symbol of white racism.” Dr. Pilgrim, D. & Dr. Middleton P. (Sept., 2001). Nigger and Caricatures. Retrieved from http://www.ferris.edu/news/jimcrow/caricature According to the online Merriam-Webster Dictionary, nigger means: 1 (usually offensive) a black person; 2 (usually offensive) a member of any dark-skinned race; 3 a member of a socially disadvantaged class of persons Meaning 1 and 2, can be found in the works of Joseph Conrad, Mark Twain, and Charles Dickens, but now it is probably one of the most offensive words used to discriminate a race. It is being used among the blacks but usually not taken as offensive unless meaning 3 is associated. It then becomes an expression of racial hatred. Origin of Nigger “alteration of earlier neger, from Middle French negre, from Spanish or Portuguese negro, from negro black, from Latin niger First Known Use: 1574” Nigger. (n.d.). Vermeer in Bosnia

... was punished as a substitute for punishing the larger evil. Trying to console the wounded family and the hopeless victim, the Tribunal invented such justice that Tadic, the seemingly sole cause of violence, bears the major share of responsibility and yet the bigger evil behind is still held unaccountable. “Joyce is right about history being a nightmare— but it may be the nightmare from which no one can awaken. People are trapped in history and history is trapped in them.”(192) James Baldwin, an African American, wrote in his essay “Stranger in the Village” as he found racism to be prevalent in a small Swiss village. In this isolated village, people were trapped in the nightmare of history, in which they still called Baldwin an “Neger”(191) and treated him as an alien. Perhaps similarly, in Bosnia, the larger evil behind was the nightmare of history. And perhaps, this nightmare was the reason that hatred and anger could prevail in Tadic’s mind. Described in Weschler’s essay (written on 1994), David Rieff tells a story about his visit to a recent battlefield: “Muslim corpses strewn across the muddy meadow, a Serb soldier grimly standing guard.” (783). When asked “What happened here?”(Quote in Weschler 783), the soldier answered: “Well, in 1385…”(Quote in Weschler 783). In the year of 1385, Battle of Savra was fought between the Muslim Ottoman Empire and Zetan forces. After the victory of Ottoman Empire, millions of local Serbs and Albanian became vassals and......

Old Mule’s cow-calf operation had experienced another year of losses. Especially frustrating was that the losses occurred despite the Greens’ multiple efforts to improve the farm’s efficiency. While these efforts improved performance compared to 2007, they were not sufficient to overcome the decline in calf prices, so the operation continued...
