Nothing to See Here

...Checking if this works… nothing to see here. Heroin is an opiate drug that is synthesized from morphine, a naturally occurring substance extracted from the seed pod of the Asian opium poppy plant. Heroin usually appears as a white or brown powder or as a black sticky substance, known as “black tar heroin.” How Is Heroin Abused? Heroin can be injected, snorted/sniffed, or smoked—routes of administration that rapidly deliver the drug to the brain. Injecting is the use of a needle to administer the drug directly into the bloodstream. Snorting is the process of inhaling heroin powder through the nose, where it is absorbed into the bloodstream through the nasal tissues. Smoking involves inhaling heroin smoke into the lungs. All three methods of administering heroin can lead to addiction and other severe health problems. Side Effects of Heroin Use Heroin is metabolized to morphine and other metabolites which bind to opioid receptors in the brain. The short-term effects of heroin abuse appear soon after a single dose and disappear in a few hours. After an injection of heroin, the user reports feeling a surge of euphoria (the "rush") accompanied by a warm flushing of the skin, a dry mouth, and heavy extremities. Following this initial euphoria, the user experiences an alternately wakeful and drowsy state. Mental functioning becomes clouded due to the depression of the central nervous system. Other effects that heroin may have on users include respiratory depression,......

...Organisation Structures For P3 in your assignment you have to describe the formal structure of two organisations. The following notes will help you to understand why organisations have formal structures. You should also understand the types of structures organisations have and the factors that influence the structure and changes to structure in an organisation. Why Do Organisations Have Formal Structures? In a small business most of the tasks needed to operate the business are carried out by a few people. The owners will be responsible for setting objectives for the business and making the key decisions. They will also be responsible for key activities such as managing finances, advertising, selling, dealing with customers, managing staff and buying stocks and other materials. The activity for ‘Sally’s Flower Shop’ illustrates this point. In a large business more organisation is needed. A large business employs a lot of people and it is necessary that the roles and activities of each employee are identified within the organisation. It is important to make sure that there is enough staff fulfilling all necessary activities to enable the business to operate and achieve its aims. Within the organisation there must be a process for setting objectives and making decisions and control and co-ordination of activities to make sure objectives are being met. In order to make decisions and control and co-ordinate activities there must be a hierarchy (different levels)......

Nothing Gold Can Stay vs. I Used to Live Here Once

...Nothing Gold Can Stay (Frost) VS. I Used to Live Here Once (Rhys) Jason W. Miller Ashford University ENG125: Introduction to Literature Professor Patricia Lake December 3, 2012 Death and impermanence is always full of sorrow. I have chosen Death and Impermanence as my theme to discuss, not because of tragedy I’ve experienced, but instead because it’s an interestingly complex theme. “Nothing Gold Can Stay” and “I Used to Live Here Once” could not be no more different in their visual form than they already are; however, they both represent the theme through common emotions and mood of the literary works. Throughout my essay I will explain the relevance of the two works, and authors, as well as the differences. The formalist approach will be my choice of critical analysis of the two works, which will aid in forming my comparison and contrast of both works as well. “The poem of the Robert Frost, “Nothing Gold Can Stay” is discussing the beauty of life’s wonderful but short-lived treasures, as example chasing dreams and spending time with loved ones. It is illustrated by Frost those treasures in the world related to the nature through the use of metaphors, imagery, diction, and allusion. The poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay” helps open one’s eyes to the harsh realities of nature’s path and although we must all succumb to the laws of nature, it is these unbreakable laws that make life so treasured (Shmoop, 2010). On the other side the literature “I Used to Live......

Nothing

...There's nothing to say about nothing. Still, some people make a fuss about it. Among spiritual seekers, there's a lot of talk about "becoming nothing". On this site about nothing, we're not going to talk about "nothing", because "nothing" can't be talked about. When people talk about "nothing", they're not really talking about nothing, they're talking about something. It's not a real nothing, it's a "nothing" they can hold in their mind. It's a nothing that feels like something, perhaps a black hole, perhaps a lonely place. They have words for it, perhaps "void", "emptiness", "nothingness". Nothingness is not nothing. It comes and it goes, so it's got to be something. You can look at it. You can hold it. You can throw it out. And when you throw it out, what's left?... ...And that's all we're going to say about that. This little introduction has nothing to do with the articles on the site. It's just here to confuse the philosophers and perhaps intrigue a few people with a genuine interest in nothing. This is a site about nothing. We hope you enjoy it. Perhaps you'd like to start with a 25-second playful video clip about a show about nothing? love numbers. And I have always loved computing. That's the whole reason computers have had such a strong pull on me since 1981, when my mom's boyfriend decided I should have my first computer: a Sinclair ZX 81. I would like this section to be about numbers, computing and computers. At the moment, it's all about computers...

These are usually classic novels (a guarantee of quality) in which some of the more complex words have been replaced by their modern or everyday equivalent. 6 Look at English films with French subtitles Yes, that’s right - ENGLISH films with FRENCH subtiles, and not the other way round! Following the film in English and concentrating on the French subtitles is an excellent exercise. And in the era of the DVD nothing could be simpler! You’ll get even better results if you experiment with a film you’ve already seen. 7 Look for information on French websites When you do a search for information on line, make sure to include French sites in your search. Nine times out of ten you’ll find what you are looking for. 8 Read food packaging A very good way of increasing your vocabulary is to read the instructions, etc. on food packaging and wrapping. The ingredients, for example, are often written in several languages and it's always a surprise to come across the French equivalent of words you use all the time. 9 Use a good dictionary Of course, this won’t help you to speak the language but it’s an excellent way of learning shades of meaning.......

...my mother and my grandmother in a nice house. My grandmother has always wanted a nice kitchen and my mom does some unorthodox things to get money. My goal in life is be exactly the opposite of where I came from but ultimately never forget where I came from. It is astonishing to me how my professor does so much work in a community in which he did not grow up in. So my goal in life is not just make a six figures before I’m thirty but to ultimately go back in the community in where I come from. I don’t want to go back just to help, but to go back and show them that anything is possible. One of the main conflicts of interest for me is that I have always witnessed people come into the community who don’t look like the community. There is nothing wrong with that, however my ultimate goal in the next five years to help my family and my extended community family. ...eventually disappear. Extinction is a behavioral strategy that does not promote desirable behaviors but can help to reduce undesirable behaviors. Punishment Punishment is a control device employed in organizations to discourage and reduce annoying behaviors of employees. OBSERVATIONAL LEARNING Observational learning results from watching the behavior of another person and appraising the consequences of that behavior. It does not require an overt response. When Mr. X observes that Y is rewarded for superior performance, X learns the positive relationship between performance and rewards without actually obtaining the reward himself. Observational learning plays a crucial role in altering behaviors in organizations. Cognitive Learning Here the primary emphasis is on knowing how events and objects are related to each other. Most of the learning that takes place in the classroom is cognitive learning. Cognitive learning is important because it increases the change that the learner will do the right thing first, without going through a lengthy operant conditioning process. LEARNING THEORY AND ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR The relevance of the learning theories for explaining and predicting of organizational behavior is marginal. This does not mean that learning theories are totally irrelevant. Learning concepts provide a basis for changing behaviors that are unacceptable and maintaining those behavior that are acceptable. When individuals engage in......
