oDesk: Changing how the world works. Business strategy of oDesk (best described in the case) as “remote employment”, a unique employment model that combines aspects of the more traditional models of local employment, local staffing forms and traditional outsourcing.

Three strategies to choose: 1) Increase oDesk’s target market from small-medium businesses to large firms 2) Expand the expertise and skills of its contractor base in order to meet a wider range of employer needs 3) Develop oDesk’s global capabilities in order to move from primarily domestic-offshore outsourcing relationships, connecting U.S. businesses with international contractors, to offshore-offshore relationships, connecting global businesses with global contractors. ...Changing Our World Dawn Glover I was always aware of the fight for equality among women and men but I was never aware of the amount of strategic planning and combined effort that this battle took to win. Foolishly, I viewed the battle simply as one gender against the other, blind to the variety of what was deemed important to the different types and classes of women. The story of women’s liberation is proof that good communication is the key ingredient to solving differences. I was very impressed with the amount of combined effort and corporation it took to put together the Boston Women’s Health Book Collective. I always viewed the fight for women’s liberation as a slow process, never viewing it in the different stages that now seem so obvious. In my opinion the first wave of women had the hardest battle to conquer. Although they focused on mainly one issue, the right to vote, it was the first barrier of many to break down. The first barrier is usually the toughest, as is apparent in the number of years it took to complete this task. The second wave feminist did not have it easy but at least some men were already on their way to accepting women’s right. The fight for global women’s rights may end up being the toughest fight to win. Maybe because some of our heroes and great idealists had ultimately failed to change the world. I am referring to Mahatma Gandhi who had brought down the oppressive British Empire with non-violent protest, Martin-Luther King who had helped change the fortunes of millions of African Americans and our very own, Ninoy Aquino who relentlessly exposed and revealed all the graft and corruption happening behind the curtains of politics. His death sparked a series of revolutions against the administration leading to the EDSA Revolution of 1986. They had fairly changed the world with their messages of love, peace and non-resistance but the evil still exists.
