Marshall hjælpen er den hjælpepakke USA gav til de vest europæiske lande. OEEC (organizationen for European Economic Cooperation) som dels organiserede fordelingen af Marshall planen. OECD er en opgradering af OEEC, denne organisation har samme effekt som OEEC, bare at Japan, Canada og USA er kommet med i aftalen. GATT (General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade) var til formål at sænke toldmurerne.

5. Hvordan er Koreakrigen fra 1950 med til at forbedre økonomien i USA?
De var nød til at producere og de brugte 108 millarder dollers otte gang så meget som marshall hjælpen.

6. Hvordan passer udviklingen i den vestlige verden på udviklingen i DK? Giv eksempler fra DK.

Reminiscing the Past

...many people said that high school is the happiest part of a student’s life. One cannot define high school life without experiencing its four years of thrilling and unpredictable events. High school was an educational institution comes after elementary and it was a preparation for college. Our mind could no longer acquire the same quantity of knowledge than it usually had before. Nourishing the mind of students with facts and teaching them to be a better person are the goal of educational institutions. Teachers and books had a great significance in achieving its goal. The skills of the teacher and also the content of the book vary from the degree of level of the students. Aside from this, the past of a student and also curiosity also help them to learn and explore new things. After my elementary graduation, curiosity drove me to wonder about life. Past Life

...Reminiscing the Past... Reminiscing the past...well its nice to rekindle some past experiences especially if those were really interesting and fun. I had a great night yesterday because I was able to visit my former dormitory in UP Diliman. When I was still studying in the university, I stayed in an old building, the NARRA Residence Hall. It's an exclusive dormitory for male students of UP Diliman. Anyways, I was with Leo yesterday and he told me that he will go to UP Diliman to bring something for Kiko. Because of not having been there for a long time, I decided to join him and went there from Las Pinas. It was really a tiring ride from the almost southernmost part of Manila to the northernmost part of the region. Leo and I were able to get a cab from Las Pinas and it cost me a lot for the fare... Well, we arrived in UP Diliman at around 8:30 in the evening. We waited for Kiko at Philcoa Jollibee Branch. Just after 15 minutes, I guess, we saw Kiko outside waiving at us with Anton. I felt happy seeing them again after a long time. They told me that Narra is having their OPEN HOUSE that night. Leo told me that he informed me about it but I cant really remember him telling me that. Anyways, I felt a bit bad because I didnt bring my camera with me...and I was only holding my very cheap Nokia 1110i and left my phone camera in my condo. So it was a little frustrating though...I kept on blaming Leo and Leo kept on telling me that he infomed me about it. I guess it was my fault.....

...“Living With The Past” by Art Vandalay June 15, 2013 In all honesty I did not hear the term Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) until some time after I re-deployed from Iraq in mid August 2003. Surely the term had been around long before them, but it wasn’t commonly used acronym in the military. I didn’t have nearly the frequent use that is has in today’s Army. Nowadays, everything a Soldier does is associated with PTSD even if the Soldier has not been diagnosed with it; it has become such a ill-used word that from what I can see everyone is try to jump on the band wagon. So if Soldier is late for my formation, the first thing he says is, “I must have PTSD or something, I need to get check out”, well the whole time I am thinking the Soldier just didn’t want to get up this morning, he doesn’t have PTSD. So I can understand how the screening for PTSD may be a bit diluted as everyone [thinks] they have it, even those who are new recruits and have never even been to combat.  Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD, is an anxiety disorder that can develop after exposure to a terrifying event or ordeal in which grave physical harm occurred or was threatened. Traumatic events that may trigger PTSD include violent personal assaults, natural or human-caused disasters, accidents, or military combat (National Institute of Mental Health, 2011). Although not all individuals who have been traumatized develop PTSD, there can be significant physical consequences of being traumatized...

Our past experiences, in some respects, are still problems in the present. Throughout history, African Americans have struggled with equality. One question that still remains is: How can we (Americans) move forward while incorporating past experiences to overcome this ever pressing issue that has plagued the U.S. for so long? The answers might very well be a combination of understanding our past, while educating and changing the mentality of our nation. Recapturing the Past

...“Recapturing the Past” Time is complex; once it has passed, it is lost forever. It is human nature to regret that which is lost, therefore, one feels the need to recreate the past and is a common theme in everyday life. These attempts at trying to repeat the past, however, are usually in vain. The novel “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald is a great example of this, as the plot focuses on the concept of recapturing the past. The plot of this story revolves around the growth and press of this concept and is told relative to the main character in the story, Jay Gatsby. Fitzgerald’s usage of this character effectively conveys this idea throughout the novel. The story about how and why Gatsby is unsuccessful in recapturing his past, how his actions hurt himself and others around him and how he ultimately fails while achieving nothing. Throughout the story, we learn that Jay Gatsby is a man who depends and dwells upon his past to reach his dream. Through the narrator, Nick Carraway, we can see that Gatsby’s bad habit of holding on the past does not help him get anywhere with his goal. He believes that the past could be repeated, “'Can't repeat the past?' he cried incredulously. ‘Why of course you can!'” (Fitzgerald, 85). This shows Gatsby’s inability to move on from the past. This obsession with the past inspires Gatsby to do everything he does in order to win back Daisy. He gets into the business of bootleg alcohol selling. However, it is important to consider the goals of terrorist organizations and whether a nuclear attack would ultimately serve to achieve their ends. According to Hoffman, Jenkins, and other scholars, historically terrorists have wanted “a lot of people watching, not a lot of people dead,” which could be part of the reason no organization has attempted such an endeavor (2006; 2006, 118). A nuclear strike would certainly attract the global attention desired, but it would cause more destruction than necessary to convey a certain message for most terrorist groups. Other risks for terrorists conducting a nuclear attack include backlash, miscalculation, and marginalization from the public, as witnessed in the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s Olympics massacre in 1972 (Hoffman, 2006). The effects of a nuclear attack could decrease worldwide sympathy, perilous to an organization’s mission. Another factor that has prevented an attack thus far could be the realization by many non-state actors that the use of nuclear force against the US would warrant a nuclear response by much larger and stronger entities. Future to Past

...Back to the Classroom Parents who went to school in the past were taught differently than the way we are taught today. Many were impecunious in the past; the students were pushed harder, helping them gain scholarships for college. There weren’t many distractions technologically speaking. History has been evolving; curriculum wasn’t as simple as it is now as it was back then. Teachers taught students with discipline and respect. Students in the past weren’t wealthy which caused them to work and be pushed even harder. For example, my mother had a rough childhood, because my grandparents weren’t wealthy at the time. She had to work really hard to keep her grades up. Students were expected by their parents to do well in school; gain scholarships and hopefully attend college. Students didn’t have the proper supplies to complete their course work such as pens and pencils. In the 1900s; students were not very motivated, the only motivation received was from pushing themselves to do better. Quandom students were way more disciplined then the minds of today. Whenever they caused problems they got whacked across the face for misbehaving. If they were to utter words during a lesson or during a time of silence they also got disciplined. When spoken to many students answered “yes and no mam”. When looking at how money and discipline worked in the past and comparing them to now and days we can obviously see a huge difference. He completed his residency at Tulane University School of Medicine, and is a member of the American College of Surgeons. He now works as one of two general surgeons for the Hamilton Medical Group in Lafayette, Louisiana; which is where our first interview took place. I remember sitting in his office waiting for him to come in, and staring at a coat rack located in the corner. It held only two white lap coats, which looked as if they hadn’t been worn for some time; there were no rumples or creases out of place, and as crisp and wrinkle–free as they were, you could assume they came straight from the dry cleaners. It also held a green scrub cap that was obviously worn quite often, which actually looked slightly yellow due to it being washed so many times. Directly across from the coat rack stood a bookshelf filled with books that all contained the word “surgery” in its titles. The books were triple the size of a holy bible, and weighed so much that the shelves bent downward, like a meniscus in a graduated cylinder. Most people make them without even realizing it. In some way, shape or form, negotiation takes place in most of the decisions we make. The book, Getting Past No: Negotiating in Difficult Situations, by William Ury, presents many points, ideologies and a framework of preparation to negotiate with confidence and manipulate tough negotiations from conflicting arguments to joint problem solving. A few of Ury’s teachings, from the book, relate to personal approaches I have learned throughout my life, while the rest can be applied in my daily interactions at work and in my personal life. One of the key ingredients to an effective negotiation is preparation. Through my job, I have been introduced to the Lean Six Sigma process. As I first started reading Ury’s book, the first connection I made with the Lean Six Sigma training was not to fix yourself on a single solution or your original position. One of the practices taught in this training was using the DMAIC process to analyze daily processes and find ways of improvement.
